Tanya talks about a negative experience and why you don’t have to work with someone that makes you uncomfortable.
Tanya Rankin: Good Morning! It’s Tanya Rankin from Williams Lake. What I want to talk to you about today was a bit of a situation that I had happen and somehow I’ve kind a got drag in to this situation and it’s all about choosing the realtor and choosing a professional that you want to work with. And in this situation what happened is homeowner got locked out in their house and I happened to know the person personally and their daughter was at our home playing and her husband was out of town. She had no way of getting a key. So I went open the lockbox for her. She use the key that unlock the door and we put it right back in so it didn’t obtain entry to their home or go in or do anything. Just the homeowner needed the key to get themselves back into the house. Anyways turns out that the listing agent feels that, that was a breach of professionalism on my part and a unprofessional and unethical because I didn’t have an appointment to show that home and nor was I planning to show that home but. It’s turned out that the homeowner has been almost accused of doing something I certainly have been and the homeowner is now to a point where they feel that its almost turned a little bit aggressive and threatening towards them. And I think the most important point of this whole sort of little scenario is that, as realtors we maintain an extremely high level of professionalism and our goal is to give great service within our community and work together cooperatively to maintain that level. That we strive to achieve and its things like these that occur that leave a really bad taste in peoples mouth about realtors or the experienced that they have with them and I just want a really reinforced. It doesn’t have to be that way. If you’re working with someone who makes you feel uncomfortable or you feel that their professionalism is not at the level that you will expected to be. Make a change, take the time to find somebody that you’re really happy with. Make that change and move on because working with a real estate professional should be a positive and awesome experience. So there’s no reason for you to have to put up with that kind of thing. If you don’t want to and on that note. If you want to email me. You can always do that at tanya@tanyarankin.com and I hope you have an awesome week!
