Tanya Rankin video blogs about her frustration with realtor.ca and active listings at 150 Mile House not showing when searching Williams Lake.
Hi it’s Tanya Rankin in Williams Lake. Had a bit of a go around with the BC Northern Real Estate Board. 150 Mile House was an area that they said had to be put in separately so if people were moving to Williams Lake and area from the coast or the Okanagan, or anywhere out of town and they put in Williams Lake, none of the listings for the 150 Mile area would come up. They had to specifically request 150 Mile as its own city. Well of course how many people moving to Williams Lake even know that there is a place called 150 Mile. So it was brought to my attention, and I just couldn’t believe that in this day in age there wasn’t a way to link an area that is 8-10 minutes from the city centre to the Williams Lake area. So I lobbied the BC Northern Real Estate Board, they in turn had to lobby BC Real Estate Association, and just this week we have found out that they have agreed that they’re going to allow 150 Mile House to be a part of Williams Lake. This is great news for anyone who is trying to sell their home at the 150 which is such a fantastic area and I’m hoping that it’s going to generate more hits to the websites that are enabling that to be one community and one area. If you have any questions send me an email anytime to tanya@tanyarankin.com and I hope you have a fantastic week.
