Tanya talks about how here in Williams Lake it’s not that common for personal possessions to be part of the contract of purchase and sale.
Tanya Rankin: Good morning! It’s Tanya Rankin. Had an offer come in this weekend on a property. And I didn’t right the offer I was the selling agent but the offer came in and they asked for a lot of personal items that the homeowner has and. In this case the homeowner got really offended by that and felt that they had their home for sale but not their personal possession and they actually rejected the entire offer based on that. And I try to express you know never take an offer personally. It’s a lot better to just take the offer for what it is and adjusted to what suits your requirements. But I guess realistically most of the time people don’t ask for personal items. You never know if maybe they were a family heirloom or passed down from grandma to the children. So usually when your making an offer to purchase real estate. Try to remember that it’s about the real estate but on the flip side. If somebody falls in love with your stuff take it as a compliment that you got great taste. It’s not meant to offend you at all. Now on that note if you have any questions. You can always email me at tanya@tanyarankin.com and I hope you have a great week!
