Tanya talks about how a furnace was left off and how it is important to always double check the home after an inspection, especially vacant homes…
Tanya Rankin: Good morning! It’s Tanya Rankin in Williams Lake. It was a home inspection this weekend where they went through everything so top to bottom and after four hours we left the house locked everything up the homeowners came back. And I woke up on Sunday morning to a email that. There house was freezing and the furnace no longer work. So i guess I didn’t know what else to do but I call the home inspector and express my concern over this and it turns out that the home inspector will also woke up by about 4am realize that they turn the furnace switch off and didn’t think anymore about it. So after you have a home inspection or anything done at your house. It’s probably best that you have really quick check that your furnace is still working and if not contact your realtor or the home inspector right away. This people went through the entire night. It dropped to minus 17 I’m just really grateful that the pipes didn’t freeze and nothing burst or anything major happened but it certainly couldn’t went the other way and especially if the home is vacant. So always make sure that you double check things before you lock up tight. If you have questions at all. You can always email me at tanya@tanyarankin.com and I hope you have a great week.
