Tanya Rankin video blogs about the Williams Lake Real Estate market and activity thru the summer months.
Tanya Rankin: Hi, it’s Tanya Rankin in Williams Lake. I wanted to a little quick recap again this week. I don’t always do them quite so frequently but I think it’s really important at this time of the year that people understand what’s happening out there in the market, and not to get discouraged out there if you’re a Seller because it’s such a typical trend during the hotter summer months. But just to give you a feeling of what is happening out there and why I want to really reassure people that it’s just a seasonal trend and once we move back into fall things will balance back out. In the last 14 days we have had 49 new listings, 14 properties successfully sell, and 14 price reductions but the 14 properties that have successfully sold, what’s really important for us to look at is it’s not because there is isn’t activity, it’s really because of where we are at in the season and people are just not as interested at getting out there and at looking at homes as they are getting out there and heading out to the lake or RVing or doing something with your family. So a lot of the Sellers feel this time of the year is very discouraging and I often even say not to reduce your price too much yet, let’s wait till we get a little closer to the fall because that’s when the Buyers will come back out. I always like to see the selling to listing ratio at about 50% and as you can see we are well below that. If you have any questions send me an email anytime to tanya@tanyarankin.com and I hope you have a fantastic week!
