Tanya Rankin and Williams Lake Real Estate Talks About the Home Inspection and Why It Is One Peron's Opinion
Tanya Rankin: Hi, it’s Tanya Rankin in Williams Lake. I want to talk about the Home Inspection, you have to remember a home inspection is one person opinion on their findings. Line up 3 home inspectors and every one of them will probably have something totally different that they find wrong with the house. I’m not suggesting that they don’t have a similar procedure they’ve gone through a specific course and training program but what one person feels alarming, another may not. I just had an example of this where the
home inspector went into the attic and came back saying there was black mold. Now black mold is a scary thing, especially if it’s in an attic because you don’t know how long it has been there. We’ve now had 3 professional contractors, so somebody who is an expert in the field of construction and roofing, that say it is absolutely not black mold and it’s just a discoloration on the wood. Very important that we understand that the home inspector wasn’t doing a bad job, he was just being cautions to the extreme. But the person did lose the deal because of the fact they thought there was black and there wasn’t, it’s been tested, we’ve had the contractors come in, shows you how easy it is to make a mistake on one
inspection alone. If you have any questions send me an email anytime to tanya@tanyarankin.com, and I
hope you have a fantastic week.
