Tanya Rankin video blogs about how appliances are a bomus to the purchase of a home, NOT the reason you're buying a home!
Tanya Rankin: Hi, it’s Tanya Rankin in Williams Lake. Appliances, people often say “well are the appliances included” I haven’t sold a home in the past three years that the appliances haven’t gone with the home. Once in a blue moon the washer and dryer doesn’t stay, but the rest of the appliances seem to always stay. I think appliances have come down in price over the years and people prefer to leave them, then to move them. But what’s really important to remember is that you’re buying a home not the appliances, and the appliances come in as is condition. There’s no way to guarantee how long they're going to work, how long they're going to last. It’s just a perk, a bonus to buying a home; it’s the home you’re actually buying. Maybe you can ask the home inspector to have a good look at the appliances and give you a good indication of how long they will last but that’s certainly not something that anyone can predict, appliances are just that, sometimes they last a long time, sometimes they don’t, it’s like buying a lemon.
